BLAME THE MEN! WHY MORE BLACK LADIES CONTINUE TO BLEACH THEIR SKIN -tony abet

Author: Abet Tonny, a Science and Health writer
Many African women believe that skin lightening cream make them more beautiful and attractive to better established (wealthier/powerful) African men, a heck of plastic selection! The marked shift in male preference toward women with light coloured skin in Africa is always attributed to the impacts of a concoction of bitter roots of white supremacy that once penetrated the historical great African civilization, Africans and blame throwing!
Skin lighteners have become the integral part of life with the fatal influence rolling from urban to rural communities across the continent.  In January 2013, BBC narrowly nailed it airing the stunning veracity themed, “Africa: where black is not really beautiful”. The 1 January 20
13 report by Pumza Fihlani in South Africa’s Johannesburg featured a renowned local musician Nomasonto Mnisi who is now a million punches lighter in skin tone.

Above is Mnsi after and before.
Minsi said her bleaching has something to do with her ‘self-esteem’; she would later go ahead to reveal that her new skin makes her feel more beautiful and confident.

Many dark-skinned female and some male celebrities across the globe share in the story of Minsi. The soul sapping low self-esteem, self-hate, and identity crisis associated with dark skin, holy Mary! SEE

Today, a lighter skinned African lady has a better chance of landing into her dream job, enhanced opportunity and favour in the lights of climbing education ladders in African schools and universities, better treatment from men in power and general public, higher chance of going through in a contested leadership position, etc. as compared to their darker skinned friends.

According to 20010 World Health Organisation release, at least 77% of Nigerian women use skin lightening products frequently, so do 59% of women in Togo, 35% of women in South Africa. Nearly 40% of women in china province of Taiwan and Hong Kong, Malaysia, the republic of Korea and Philippines use skin lighteners. In India, at least 61% of cosmetic market consists of skin lightening product.

Guess who she is....

The nightmare of Michelle 25, a once dark skinned princes in our nursery school way back in 1996 challenged me into rethinking my negativity towards girls that lighten their skin. Michelle, a Ugandan lady could not agree any further with the BBC’s and other related documentaries asserting self-hatred among darker-skinned ladies. A tall and brown Michelle (not real name) now munches good salary as a secretary in a healthy paying non-profit organization established in the outcast of Uganda’s capital city of Kampala. Just at a glance, Michelle’s skin looked consistently light and glamourous (to be sincere); you may not easily tell that she was not born that light except if you had known her way back like the writer did. The blossoming and setting of the sun could never appear the same in her eyes ever since Jim (the lover boy she had dated for 5 years) finally ditched her in preference for a lighter skin girl from a Bantu tribe. Now the majory of lighhter skinned ladies in a country that birthed the ancient river Nile happens to be the Bantu. Ackwoledging that her boyfriend was gone for good, Michelle decided to do something about it. Whether stupid or carrying some sense, she didn't care. To her it was like that is what men want. I think she forgot that her father was still married to her mother upto now even though she is very dark skinned. But whether it was a good or bad idea, Michelle was ready to face all criticisms.  She would later go ahead to experience a miracle that had never crossed her mind, the sizzling wonder of bleaching that left her with a skin cover that roasts her flesh like hell flame! ONLY IN AFRICA'S UGANDA _abet tonny

Uganda’s equatorial climate is tempered by its elevated altitude.
In most parts of the country, the average maximum temperature is between 20°C and 27°C during the day, and the minimum between 12° C and 18° C. This makes the country a true nature and wildlife paradise, as it guarantees the best conditions for the thriving of both the flora and the fauna that are typical of this region.
Most parts of Uganda receive an annual rainfall between 1000 and 2000 mm (except in the drier north, where in some areas the average annual rainfall is as low as 100 mm), with a wide regional variation in rainfall patterns. As a rough guide, however, the wet seasons are from September to October and April to May. That said, it is possible to travel the whole year round: rain usually means a heavy shower for 1 hour and then the sun takes over again!

How Christian Spirituality Fastens Recovery from Addictions _Abet Tonny

Besides belief in a highly transformative spiritual rebirth through the encounter of the Holy Spirit (spirit of Jesus), conservative Christianity majorly promotes and encourages self-control amongst its believers. It is prudent to note that most addictions arise when victims give up on pursuing particular religious, spiritual, moral and social values that once held them in check and accountable. Every human being has some unique crave in the heart which when not put under control amount to self-destruction to the being in long run.

The writer of one of the epistles in the Christian holy book had this to say, “….I will not be mastered by anything" (I Corinthians 6:12). This sturdy phrase was adapted from one of the Christian recovery messages, “Your real problem is not an incurable illness, but sin. And Jesus came to deal with sin (I Corinthians 5:11). You need to be spiritually reborn and baptized with the Holy Spirit. You need to change your life patterns.”

Research has shown that being a part of a faith-based community, participating in religious activities, or associating with a network of individuals who share similar beliefs increases self-esteem, wellbeing, and a feeling of belonging.
Spiritual beliefs and practices impacts addiction in three potential ways:

  1. A member of a certain religion may be less likely to engage in illicit behavior or drug use if that religion prohibits it
  2. Participation in a religious or like-minded community may fill social voids, providing both a sense of belonging and acceptance
  3. Connection or closeness to a higher power provides a feeling of optimism for the future, as well as strength to resist hard to crack behaviors and substance use

TOP 10 NEW GEN. ADDICTIONS UNCONCIOUSLY ERODING YOU _Abet Tonny

Moral analysts tranquilly believe no generation has been thrilled by extreme sorts of malevolence, immorality and has incredibly suffered intimidating addictions more than this very generation to which I engrave this piece tonight. The word “addiction” is derived from a Latin term for “enslaved by” or “bound to.” Anyone who has struggled to overcome an addiction—or has tried to help someone else to do so—understands why. Today, addiction is outrageously shared uniformly among the young and the elderly, insinuating no one can guide the other any again as nature (God) intended. For instance, technological advancement obviously places the father and son prey to same addictive agents like social media, porn……..

Addiction can be defined as Habitual psychological or physiologic dependence on a substance or practice that is beyond voluntary control. Alternatively, Addiction may also be defined as a state characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli despite adverse consequences.
Addiction exacts a high toll on individuals and society as a whole through the direct adverse effects of drugs, associated healthcare costs, long-term complications (e.g., lung cancer with smoking tobacco, liver cirrhosis with drinking alcohol). Sexual addicts often involuntarily risk in unsafe sex thus subjecting themselves and the associates to all forms of sexually transmitted infections.
Habits and patterns associated with addiction are typically characterized by immediate gratification (short-term reward), coupled with delayed deleterious effects (long-term costs).

Common examples of drug and behavioral addictions include:
Alcoholism

Cocaine addiction
Nicotine addiction
Opiate addiction

Food addiction
Gambling addiction
News and media addiction

Sexual addiction

What really causes Breast Cancer??? _by Tony Abet

It was a heart-throbbing scene witnessing this great friend, a mother of two -Jackline at 32 years of age, struggle to utter her last breathe in a Mulago Hospital bed. Simply, the long war was over and finally she had lost it, in unthinkable groan and excruciating pain. A tragic Monday of May 2014 to remember!

Cancer had pirated Jackline's left breast. At first, she felt a small lump in her nipple and thought it was probably a mild infection that would go off with minimal treatment. No one wants to think they could be developing cancer, but choosing to face the truth can always save us more than being in denial. However, I could appreciate that it's like a death penalty in a third world country discovering you finally have cancer.  A place where securing one meal a day can be a miracle. Often people can neither afford high treatment costs for cancer nor are there facilities to effectively handle cancer.

Months had gone past and the small lump on the breast had gone wild. The nipple appearing scaly, red and returning inward in the midst of unbearable pain. The cancer had spread excessively by the time she went seeking serious medical attention. The doctor revealed Jackline was at stage T4c meaning cancer had spread to her chest wall and skin...this was life-sapping! May her soul rest in peace.

Breast cancer affects one in eight women during their lives. No one can point exactly why some women get breast cancer. But oncologists -people who study cancer, have gathered a number of factors common among women who eventually develop breast cancer.

Below I have illustrated risk factors that may get you into deadly pit of cancer. There're those you can avoid, please do.
